Emission removal and fuel system help
Hi I am pretty new to this and i am having so much trouble with this car i just purchased. It is a 1988 TurboII and it has been sitting for over 10 yrs. So what I am attempting to do is remove the emissions rat nest and replace fuel injector orings, upper intake manifold gasket, fuel filter etc.
My issue is that when I was the removing emission components the engine does not have a egr valve, switching actuator, port in between lower intake manifold above the primary fuel rail needs to be capped off, also the FPR is on the primary rail not the secondary fuel rail so the pulse dampener is on the secondary rail and there is no way that they can be switched around.
So the high pressure fuel line from the fuel filter goes to the outlet of the FPR and is not feeding into the fuel rails what so ever.
And the only way the fuel pump engages is when I press in the flap on the MAF housing.
Has anyone ever ran into this issue before? Please help

sounds like it has an S5 engine in it already.... the fuel pump is supposed to work when the AFM isn't 100% closed, its a safety thing.

Ok so the difference between a S4 engine and the S5 would be the location of the FPR and the pulse dampener in my case and no actuator switch. And the fuel pump would not prime up like a regular motor in a typical car. Because the fuel pump does not cut on at all when the switch is on the ON position

the fuel pump doesn't prime like a typical car, it runs with the key in the "start" position, or when the ecu sees RPM, or when the fuel pump test connector is jumped and the key is on.

Thanks. Upon arriving back to my garage this evening I was able to find the little round silver plates that a used motor has to indicate if the car runs hot that will void its warranty. Which this leads me to believe that the previous owner or someone put other motor in the car. And upon attempting to crank engine over one more time I found an oil/fuel mixture begin to pour out of exhaust out of main car since exhaust system is not bolted on car. UGH one thing after an other

since we have figured out that the car is a JSpec engine and all. Still have several questions.
Changed oil in car and replaced spark plugs that were soaked from last attempted to start (raw fuel coming out of exhaust manifold).
Looked over diagram I referenced to delete emissions. However the only switching actuator I can locate on engine is the one on turbo for waste gate. However on my actuator it is a closed loop system and no other hose that even go to a solenoid.
This is a pic of my engine
would I have to add a tee in there like the one showed in these two pics that I circled in blue or leave it like it is?
Upon a second attempt of starting I have the same issue that I came across last night fuel coming out of exhaust manifold like last night again. Any ideas on what could cause this to occur?
Thanks for any help guys

The t into the wastegate line is for the ecu controlled turbo duty solenoid. The factory wastegate spring is 5.5psi, the ecu on S5 cars uses the duty solenoid to allow up to 8psi of boost. The s4 ecu has no provision to control boost, so dont bother with it. The only way the car wont hit at least 7-8psi is if the exhaust system is 100% stock, including all the cats.
