Question emergency brake light

I've read a few other queries about this subject in regards to 3rd generation but can't find any 2nd generation specific.

My light on the warning panel is stuck on even though the brake is off. I believe it's just a stuck switch but can't seem to find where it would be located. All fluid levels are normal. So I don't think it has anything to do with low level indication. Any help would be appreciated.

That light comes on when you have a burnt out brake bulb as well. I would check all of those and see if one is bad.

Yeah, the idiot light cluster and CPU can go bad and/or need to be resoldered. Fairly common problem. Does the clock fade in and out as well?

Thanks for answering people.

All other lights are fine and there are no other quirks to report!

This problem started a couple of weeks ago. At first it would go out after awhile or when I went around a corner. I still suspect a faulty switch, but as I said I'm not exactly sure where it is on the emerg brake. The brake is working fine.

If anyone knows where the switch is located I would like to start with that.

Mine was coming on when I accelerated and going off when I hit the brakes for a while, something loose I guess... one day it stopped doing it. I'm pretty sure the switch is in the center console near the e-brake switch
