Look in the FSM I personally dont know. For the time being just park your car in 1st gear and curb your wheel.

look under the car and check the cable.

comes from above the tranny, goes back and connects to 2 other cables. First thing I would do is theck the cable and whatnot. I know that there is a spring back where the cable splits to create tension on the line, perhaps the spring is shot so you get no tension when you pull on it.

I have had this problem with other cars. In my experience the line just needed to be tightened.

If the cable isnt broken, then you can tighten it up if you take off the trim on the ebrake inside of the car. There *should* be a nut or bolt, I forget which which the cable connects to. It shouldnt be too big a job.

Yea same here. I have to tighten the old benz's cable a lot for some reason, like every 6 months or so, yes the bolt is tight! The cable is just streched I guess...who cares? Not me!

got the same problem, my ebrake used to lock my tires solid even inmovement. Then one day I changed the brake pads myself, front and rear. From that day on my ebrake barely stops me in movement, it does hold the car from rolling back while parked though. I have just been too lazy to check it out.

If you tighten up the cable you should be fine...but you will go through tires and brake pads like a bitch!
