Electronic immobilizer

You know when there is trauma to the electrical components and the engine cuts off? Why does it do that and how do i restart the engine? the dash lights come on, but the engine is cut.

How come there is no mention of this in the owners manual?

Ps i have a 1990 convertible rx7

Hi guys,

Just got my S4 turbo back on the road and this exact same thing happened to me today. Anyone got any info on how to prevent it happening? It started up fine and then just cut out at a stop sign, wouldn't crank and all dash lights illuminated, I had to roll it into a parking spot (good job i was on a hill! Drove 500 miles in her yesterday and no problems at all. I came back to car later and it started first time without any problems, which make me think it was some sort of security feature that enabled itself.

If someone can shed some light, I would be very much appreciative.

Regards
Ben

The S5 does have a starter cut relay, which is part of the security system. It's located on the left inner fender next to the clutch master cylinder. You can bypass it by simply jumpering the two heavier wire. I don't believe that the S4 had this relay.

They do have it. On cars without alarms, Mazda did this at the factory. My Project OldTree is like this.
