Unhappy Electrical woes 87 TII

I need help! I just got my FC on the road and some very strange things are happening. On Sunday I replaced the battery in the car and now the radio doesn’t work. When I turn it on the door light in the center display comes on and it looks like the radio gets juice for a split second. Then I noticed that the dome light quit. Just got back from lunch and on the way to the deli I looked at the gas gage, ¾. Sandwich in hand got back in the car and drove off, looked at the gage again ¼ and dropping. Then it started to go up. Got to ½ and then went down again. What the hell is going on? I have heard of these cars having electrical woes but all this crap worked on Friday! Things I did to the car since Fri.
Cat back exhaust
Drain and refill coolant
New AFM
Oil change
Reroute plug wires
New Battery
Shifter bushings
Belts

Please HELP

The first thing that I would do is clean all of the ground connections.

If this started when you changed something, you need to go back to that/those things that you did and clean/check all of the connections.

thanks

Thanks Mike, that's exactly what I did. It seems that the jack off who owned the car before me had installed some fog lights or something and the hot wire to the relay was jumped off of the dome light fuse. Well the dope jumped it off the hot side and when he removed the crap he left the wire dangeling. Well then I come along and moved it so that it is grounding on the clutch master. It blew the dome light fuse but because it was jumped on the hot side of the fuse it was shorting the the whole circuit through thr door switch. All is good now, lesson learned.
Gas gage is still wacked. It will read dow to about 3/4 tank and then go straight to E. I'm thinking sender.

Great! If you find that you need a gas gauge, I have one here. I might have a sender.
