Electrical short

Electrical short

ok, i took my steeriung wheel casing off cus it kept humming and vibrating and it got very annyoing. when i did the ignition light bulb came out no biggie, until i was drivng and it hit my tight and since it was hot burn the hell outta my i got mad and ripped it out. later that day i trun on my lights and low and behold no interior panel lights. ok

Now
I checked all the fuses and the illumiation fuse has a charge to it but still no panel so can someone please direct me where to look for the short or whatever it maybe.

Ps the fuses are all good i checked them.

These 2 things are on different fuses. Seems like one should not affect the other. I am assuming that you are referring to your instrument cluster lights. These come off of the same fuse as your taillights power. If your taillights are working, the problem could be a bad light switch (I assume you played with the **** that adjusts the panel light brightness on this switch), or a loose connection/broken wire between the switch and your instrument cluster. By the way, the fuse for the taillights is the rightmost one in the top row of the fusebox. Hope this helps!

wel i tried that, but it didnt help.

the other thing thats out is you know the dials and stuff they they are all out, like the illum that lights them to see like if you move it up or down but them are out including my heater lights so i donno...

any other suggestions

You NEED to answer the question. DO YOUR TAIL LIGHTS WORK? If they do work, then the light sw assy is probably bad. Take the switch out of the car. Put a meter on the pin where where the white and green wire goes and the other lead on the pin where the red and green wire went. With the meter in ohms, do you get a reading when the manipulating the light sw?

well though id get back sorry comps been down, I went to the junk yard and found a replacment light switch thingy and it now all works lucky me,... thanks for all your help
