electrical problems

a while back my parking light part of my headlight switch burned out... i moved it over to a toggle switch till i can locate the problem... i think there is a short somewhere in the parking light circut because if i turn the parking lights on the radio goes off also and my voltage drops a little more than it should and the toggle switch i have for the lights gets warm if i have it on for a while... does anyone know where the short could be?? anyone have a similar problem??

Please read the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section before posting. Your problem is covered in there.

You have a bad headlight switch and headlight switch harness. You will need to replace them. If the bulbs and bulb sockets are not maintained properly then the light switch and harness will burn out.

There will be no short in the system unless you have changed the wiring (like installing a radio or something). A short in the system would result in blown fuses.

If your radio is turning off when you put the parking lights on, and you have installed an aftermarket radio, you have messed up the installation

or you have a bad alternator or charging circuit.
