Electrical Problems

Ok I cant find the problem. Ok first of all my alternater went out so i got a new alternater and a battery. Now like a weeklater my new alternater went out again. I have the warrenty but i was wondering if it might be an electrical problem or if the alternater is a POS. Thanks Darin

did you follow factory guidelines for tightening the alt belt???

and you had the battery disconnected by the neg terminal first, and then after the alt was installed, the neg side of the battery reconnected last? right?

Bad rebuilt alternators do happen. I got 2 in a row once.
Do check for voltage drop from the battery to the alternator, both on the hot & ground sides.

Another thing to consider, is an extremly weak battery can sometimes cause premature failure of the alternator.
