Electrical problem !
This is my problem, when my head lights are on, the car idle's around 850 rpm's and idle's great. Turn off the head lights the car almost die's and idle's like s%$#!! What could be causing this problem?

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Sounds like grounding issues between the battery, chassis, cnd engine. Also maybe run new and bigger wires from teh battery to alternator and clean all terminals.

I put a test light to the negative battery cable and, a light did come on but, the light was dim and the light was blinking. What could this mean? I changed my alternator about a weak ago I took off the negative battery cable but not the plus battery cable. While I was changeing it the cable with the little tan cover on that goes to the alternator, touched the intake manifold and sparked. Do you think I shorted some thing out? I do know the alternator is good and the battery is good to.

You also smoked a Diode in the alternator. You can confirm this by using a digital multi-meter set for AC Volts, on the alternators output... if it shows any AC (more than .01 Volts) you smoked a diode. Rebuild or replace the alternator.
