Electrical gurus: A simple but time consuming problem...

Well the rebuild runs great! But I do have a couple elctrical gremlins to deal with...

My EGI, and HEAD fuse in the engine bay are blowing often. It's quite obvious that theres a short somewhere in the system! I'm wondering if anyone knows of any wires which if shorted, would effect BOTH of these systems?

i've recently installed an alarm which tapped in to both the red and black parking lights wire, and the 12V source from the ON and constant parts of the ignition switch.

check the wiring on each sensor,check for wire rubbing against the engine,especially at the back of the alternator where it gets hot,check the wiring going to the ecu at the firewall,and since you installed an alarm in all honesty I would try without it (total disconnect) and see if that is the culprit..checking fuses too does not hurt either..fuse block at engine bay..water temp sensor wire..stuff like that..buddy had a wire rub,caused the same symptoms..good luck Jono

yeah im thinking about yanking the alarm all together... im not a big fan, I just dont like the fact there aint much protecting the car. I hate the idea of having all those wires under the dash but I don't fell safe relying simply on the cars locks

The alarm tapped onto those wires will have no effect on the fuses you mentioned

the parking lights wire isnt attatched to the headlight fuse?

no, parklights are tied in with your tailights and instrument/dash lights
