Electrical GURUs I need your help with fuel pump wires and plug

ok heres the deal i went with a oem tank now i ditched the fuel cell , i welded a sump on the oem tank because of my external aeromotive a1000 fuel pump.

so i got my tank in, i stripped the oem sending unit clean but the floaterand the electrical sensor that connects to it.

The blue wire that goes to the sending unit forthe tank is the wire i have powering my pump.

now since i want the factory sending unit to work i have to unplug my smal bit connector from the blue wire on the connector in order for me to connect the two 4 wire plugs togeher.

My question is this, If i connect the sending unit to the plug can i splice my pump powe wire to the blue one.

I was thinking about this because i removed the oem pump so the two wires that go to the pump are not been used but what if i connect it and those two wire ground out on the plate of the unit i dont want to go booom

(again this is so i can get a fuel reading from the factory oem sending unit and use my external pump powering off that blue wire that goes to the plug)

Thanks-

If i remember correctly the blue wire is supposed to be your powre and the black wire is your ground...so you should have no problem connecting the pump power to the blue wire...you would need to do this so it powers up properly upon ignition

the white and green stripe wire sends the signal to your gauge for fuel level and the white with red stripe triggers your fuel low light when it reaches 1 gal

hope that helps

um, why didn't you correctly use the factory wires? On the pump side of the connector, the black/white wire is +12v for the pump, there is a black ground wire, and then I think there are two red wires for the fuel pump. It's confusing because the wires change color from the rear harness side of the connector to the actual fuel pump side, and this is not noted in the factory wiring diagrams.

my tuner installed my microtech for me so he had the blue wire off that harness as my power supply,

black/white - is +12v- power for pump
black- ground
