Electrical Gremlens

Right now I'm working on getting my sunroof and wipers working, sunroof doesn't make any noises or anything when I press up or down buttons and the wipers don't move on any settings... as well as the clock never has anything on it.. I'm sure theres something else I'm missing but thats it... has anyone experienced these problems before, and if so how did you fix em? thnx

Check the fuses before anything. As far as the clock goes, I resoldered It and It worked like a charm!

The solder joints where connector lugs mount on the circuit boards tend to crack. Resoldering them will fix most electrical problems. The horn & wiper relays wear out about every 10 years, and can be replaced. There are write ups referenced all over this forum..

Just checked all the fuses and one was burned out, but from the electrical diagrams I've read it was only the window controls, and since I have 89 windows on my 88 they don't work, and the cigarette lighter... the wiper motor was disconnected for some odd reason too so that was a quick fix, but right now I'm waiting till tommorow when Radio Shack is open so I can get anew battery for the remote for my car alarm, the battery died out and I disconnected the ground when I was checking out the fuses and fiddling with the sunroof switch and when I re-attached it the alarm goes crazy and I can't start the car, but I get all the electrics. Also waiting till I can find a multimeter so I can start checking more electric stuffs...

it could have something to do with the alarm too. mine had all of your symptoms from a blown fuse though
