electric water pumps?

I was removing my water pump the other day and notice how rediculasly heavy this thing is. I was just wondering if there are electric pumps for such applications, that would save weight, and a smidge of hp's due to not being connected to a belt. just curious

I wouldn't run an electric waterpump for anything other than strip.

the mechanical pump is more reliable. Stick with it for street applications. The electrical water pump also removes HP. Power is not free. You increase elctrical load on your alternator.

Minimal weight lost
Minimal cooling benefits on a street car
No power gained
Lots of money spent

You still want one?
