Electric Fans don't add power. They free up power by means of reducing parisitic drag. I'm running the Flex-A-Lite Black Magic Electric Fan #150 and I think they don't suck, by far.

Tell us more on how they suck.

Something you should do while you're at this is add/replace some grounds. The stock electrical system probably wasn't good enough when new, so you might want to think about doing this when you add a new heavy electrical load to it.

You may have heard that flex fans suck... Some people use this interchangeably w/ the non-electric fans. In other words, the flex fan you buy from Pep Boys, or whatever that doesn't use a clutch or anything -- it's just mounted directly to your water pump pulley (w/ a spacer). Yeah, don't get one of those.

You bet you sweet **** those Black Magic fans suck. They such hard enough to drawn in small wildlife and schoolkids though the bumper.

The universal Black Magic is what I have and it's great. Unless the stock fan you can actually feel the fan pulling in air through the bumber. When it comes on you can feel the air current on your hand. It's a lot stronger than the stock clutch fan. The Black Magic has the highest CFM rating of any single fan that I'm aware of.

Again, I'm Impressed with the 150. Perhaps your source which suggested they suck should/could reply to this thread, to get additional Input or check out the stats on this shitty fan. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/blackmag.htm

I can feel my stoc fan pull air threw the bumper, and if I were to weld it solid, it would pull in large forest animals not just school children.
