Electric clicking?

just put a new motor in my '89 NA and when i turn it to the "on" position it makes this click. sounds like a spark and the instrument panel guages twitch a little but i dont see anything from inside the engine bay. also i'll get this buzzing sort of sound right around the throttle body. if it is a short does anyone know where it might be coming from? not sure if this is a relatively common thing or not

My 88 SE had that problem. It was a low battery/bad connection on the terminals.

Might want to give that a look. If you lucky it is the problem and easily fixed.
