Question electircal problem?

for a while i've had a rough idle. couple of days ago my battery was dead i got it up and running again. and it seems my batter isnt keeping charge. i know the battery is good and i checked the connections those are fine. and when im at a light my lights will dim like there about to go out. like the car has no power. could this be the alternator or some other electrical problem. and would this cause a rough idle. if theres a bunch of mistakes or typos, sorry its 420am im tired.o its an 87 t2 if it matters.

sounds like alternator..and if theres not sufficient charge...to fire the plugs..it tends to kill the idle...id get the alternator checked..a sometimes easy check is to start the car...then disconnect the battery and see if the car still runs..ive heard thats a way to check it.....good luck

Yeah- mine did the same thing when my alt crapped out- so I took the opportunity to do the FD alt mod. Check w/silverrotor if you are interested.
