EGT Temps

my 88 t2 when I'm just cruising around town the hightest my egt gauge reads is around 580C. now when i'm on the highway cruising at right around 70mph at about 3krpms, it's around 700-720C. now crusing on the highway at around 70 I noticed if i step on the gas all the way to WOT and hold it there till I get up to say around 100 my EGT temps go to like 800C sometimes a little higher then 800,then I let back off the gas and my temps start coming back down. now I have stock fuel injectors and my boost gauge reads right around 9-10psi when im at WOT, and I do have a SAFC that is richening my mixture +3% from 3k to 8k, my question is, are my EGT temps showing what they should be showing as far as cruising in city and highway, and at WOT?

the car runs leaner in 5th while crusing. the 700 is pretty normal. so is the 800 at WOT.

i'd go a tad richer in the top of the rev range to compensate for some bad gas etc...but you're pretty much where you should be.

that's a relief, I also checked my timing per the FSM and and the engine was retarted about 5 degrees, so I then advanced it to where it should be and the car seems to be running a lot better, but also seems to run a little bit richer, normal?

What kinda gauge?&nbsp Different gauges read differently...
Where is the probe located?&nbsp It makes a big difference where the probe is located...

Compared to my GReddy (52mm) EGT, your readings are way different.&nbsp On cruising under 4kRPM, I read up to 780C.&nbsp At WOT, it drops down to 720C.&nbsp Probe is located right after the turbo in the downpipe (flange).
