Ok, thanks to everyones help, with a modifyed acv, and 1/5th a tank of denatued alcohol, my car passed tailpipe with flying colors (i actually probably didnt need the alcohol, but better safe then sorry) only problem,.. egr diapram is dead. I tried to fix it allready once with lots of gasket seal, whihc i baked on in the oven, and it was sealing out of the car, but once on the car, apparently, it doesnt work. Ive been to 3-4 junkyards around here, and every single EGR diapram is dead. So what do you S4 Guys do for smog? is there a place cheaper than the 300$ mazda wants? is there a shop in the bay area that doesnt look at the thing? If i put on an 89 intake and a block off plate, do you think theyll be stupid enough to think its an 86' s5? say i plug the thing with JB weld so it will hold vacume? do you think the'll fail it when the RPMs dont drop? do i have any options but forking out 300 bux for a tiney piece of poorly engineerd rubber and aluminum?
