Effects of twin scroll removal, and a new idea...

If anyone has first hand experience in the effects of removeing the twin scroll, please let me know. Low end loss, at what rpms, any high end gain, etc.

I am putting a turbo on an N/A, and have no way to actuate the twin scroll system (no vaccum signal at 2700 rpms.), so I was simply going to remove it. However, I have a spare S5 aux port actuator. It is a diaphragm that extends with pressure, around 2 psi. If I remove the stock diaphragm, and flip the mounting for it to utilize the extending diaphragm, would it be functional as a system that would open with 2 psi of manifold pressure/boost? Or would that be way too late...
Just a thought...

Well, I took mine off. From the stock TIIs I've driven, I can say that it has basically no effect. You will notice a small amount of lost low-end boost, but the higher comression NA rotors will most likely make up for it. Also, with the actuator removed, there is a less of a restriction in the manifold.

It added about 3-400 RPM to my spool up time with the stock turbine and ported wastegate.

Ya you end up with some loss in low end, but it makes up for it in top end so....

Make sure if you do it that you port the manifold a bit so the two ports are about the same size this will help as well
