Ecu whine?

So i bought my 86 NA in october and have put about 9k miles on it. For the last few months if i get the throttle in a certain spot/load i will have an electrical whine from the passenger side floor and i will loose a bit of power. Also my car idles at about 1500 and is lopey. Another thing, im only geting 220 miles to a tank! is that normal??? If i put it un nuetral it will smooth out but is still very high! Any ideas? i really really need some help!

See but when i first got it i would get around 300 a tank. Now something else, i drive a 120 mile a day round trip commute, most of which is 55-75 highway driving. But the lope and lack of power is what im concerned about.

mine's mostly in town shifting at +6k, so that might explain the mileage difference. as for your idle, sounds like it could either be your TPS is not adjusted properly, or that your BAC needs to be cleaned/replaced.

eliminate vacuum leaks then set your TPS.

you might check your ECU codes to see if your O2 sensor is out of spec, or if the ECU sees anything else wrong. you'll need a testing apparatus, which basically consists of two LED's. search for ecu code tester or reader and you should find how to make one, they're very cheap. these error codes should be relevant to your car, but may not be for the S5's, I'm not sure.
