Ecu standalone
What stand alone ecu is more applicable to my 88' GXL?? I am trying to get as much dependable horsepower out of the N/A engine.. I know Haltech and Microtech are the prefered choices around here.. I am just wondering what is the concensus for my application?? Thanks for all the opinions and feedback.. Have a Good Weekend,
Jimmy

If you're planning on having it professionally installed and tuned, I would recommend you talk with the person that is going to install/tune it and use what he prefers. The Haltech and Microtech offer similar features (with a few exceptions), but a standalone ECU is only as good as its tuner.
If you're planning on installing it and tuning it yourself, read up on the features that both offer and play with each ECU's tuning software (I know Haltech has demos of their software on their website) and see which you prefer.
Personally, I went with a Haltech on my TII because that is what my tuner was most familiar with.

The best idea is to buy one through your local dealer who will also install and tune it. This project is best left to the professionals. Whatever EMS your dealer chooses will work just fine.
