ecu question

Hey guys, I have an 88 turbo with a n326 (non turbo?) ecu. Apparently it's been modded as it has "modTII stock rpm" labeled on it. Anyone know what that could mean? I found a n333 I could buy to replace it. Think I should switch them? Would that mean my wiring harness is for a non turbo and just configured for a turbo? Any insight would be grrrrrrreat!
(Lost contact with the guy I bought it off of, can't ask him what he did to it.)

I'd use the N333(or the N332) as it was designed for the s4 TII engine.

You need to find out of your car was originally turbo and is using the TII harness on the engine.
If the car was TII then it is OK.
If you used the N/A engine harness then you have to cut a wire to the Power steering or every time you use the PS it will decrease idle/engine speed.(don't quote me on this Pin 3D???)
Also look to see if the AFM and the boost sensor are coded with N318 as that is what is supposed to be used with the S4 TII engine.

It's a possibility that someone modified the EPROM code with provisions to support a turbo setup. I'm fairly sure there are moderate hardware differences, so a direct firmware swap would not be ideal -- however, it may very well be possible. I'll look at my EPROM's and see how the ECU handles the hardware differences.
