ECU Pin Check-Out Of Car

Any way of bench checking the ecu when out of the car? Trying to do some checks without doing an in car installation.
Just an FYI-I have 2 stock N370, plus a modified N370 that is presently in the car, and just purchased a N374 and associated wiring harness. Would like to bench check the N374.
Thanks for any advise

It is kind of hard to do that as it needs to read resistances of the sensors etc.

Since the ECU simply reads the inputs devices and then operates the output devices, it's completely useless sitting on a bench. What did you plan to test?

Unhappy Question

I was hoping to find a way to test and validate that an out-of-car ECU is "good" or not. Sure would save time and hassles in buying and/or selling a used one.

Same here. I know the other 3 (N370) are good as I've had them in my car. I just didn't want to take the time to try the N374 I purchased. I'm going to resell the N374 and wiring harness, but wanted to check before putting it up for sale.
Thanks, but I guess there is no way to check pins out of car.

I also wanted to do something like this. I have an s5 t2 ecu that was in the car when the electric omp went out. Some say that the omp going out may screw up the ecu as well. I installed a known working ecu and omp at the same time and I am reluctant to try installing the old ecu in fear of messing up the good omp. Opened the ecu up and not burnt circuits or anything.

Bump for bench testing questions!
Is there any way to validate that an ECU is "good" when it is out of the car?

About as close as you can come is to put it in the car and do it from the passengers seat by reading out the values given in the FSM for a engine with the key to ON. You don't have to bolt the ECU down. IF you don't bolt it down you have more flexibility to access the pins. The values are found in the FUEL seciton of the online fsm's under Control Unit.

Or you can send it out to have it tested by someone that has the facility/tools/expertise. They'll want money for their boat payment though.

Nah, no boat... wife won't let me get one unless I sell some of the cars.

I was thinking of buying a cabin up at Tahoe anyway
