ECU check light question
I did a search, put together the ECU check light, installed it, and started the car. My question is: While the engine is cranking, should the #1 light be flickering on and off wildly? I followed the instruction on this page: http://home.rmci.net/panther/86_88ecu.htm
Pretty simple stuff there.
The #2 light stays out, but the #1 blinks fast when the engine is cranking. Its faster then the 1/2 second blinking it does when it throws a code. Is this normal?
Thanks

IIRC only one of my lights come on unless it throws a code. They dont flicker on and off though. Almost sounds like there isnt enough voltage to run the bulb you are using during cranking.

Its a 12V 20ma LED with a built in 680 ohm resistor. It lights up bright enough, its just that it flickers really fast while I crank the engine to start it. With the key in the run position, both lights come on for 3 seconds, then they both go out unless there is a code. So this flickering thing isn't normal? Anyone else have any experience with the test lights?
