ecu and associated sensors

I was wanting to know if the "N" number on the electric components, BACV for isntance, had to match the "N" number that is on the ECU for them to work properly? I have a 90 N/A convertible if that info is needed.

No, as long as it's from the same series and same model line eg S5 n/a S5 Turbo. The tUrbo models have N370, N374, N380 that I know of.
