How do I get to the ECU on my 86 gxl? Where is it?

its under the passenger side carpet. You take the panel off that sits under the door(6 screws I think) and then take off some of the interior panels under the passenger side of the dash. You should be able to pull back the carpet now and you will see a metal cover plate. 4 bolts hold in the plate, underneath it is the ecu.

Edit: in that pic below the metal kick plate was reinstalled
The red dots are the areas where the bolts/nuts sit
