The only diff is the #s N332 for 87 and N333 for 88, the only thing this means is the ECU was packaged with a low 1987 and then high 1988 imp injector car. All year ECU's expect to see 12v from the injectors. Only the injectors see a change in resistance from the resistor pack on the wire harness. Hope that helps you understand.
