Eclipse Wheel Fitment on FC

Yeah yeah I know about the tire fitment thread...

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hlight=fitment

but most of those wheels they were talking about are like 17X9 so that's way different from these.

What about 1997-1999 Eclipse Wheel 16X6 with 46mm offset:

http://a904.g.akamai.net/7/904/506/v...6/iP9464_1.jpg

Will these fit my FC without scraping or will these have a sunk in look so I'll need to have spacers? OR will they fit just fine?

evo wheels

well i have the evo 8 on wheels on my fc with 245-45-17 all the way around and the rear is fine with a small spacer and the front needs a little bit bigger spacer because the wheel rub on the spring which in turn is a problem so i spaced it and now all better

How big are your wheels and what offset are they?

So I went to this site from the FAQ for FC

http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html

and it said this when I put in the numbers from my stock wheel to the new wheel.

"The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 7mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT in towards the body by 19mm"

So I guess this size of rim will be safe because it will have 7mm more clearance but does the second part mean that I would have to get a 19mm spacer for it to fit like stock?

The reason I'm getting these is for an extra set and my friend is giving me a good price. I also thought that these resembled the 5zigen FNO1R-C.

What does that mean???? Please explain. I was thinking about it and 19mm is not that much. Like less than 3/4 inch. But that might look like alot when you put them on.

well.....why dont you try them out first? thats the only way you'll really know. Swap them in take it for a drive, turn the wheel from lock to lock and see how they feel. Personally i think they'll look like **** on an FC, the wheels will most likely have a very sunken look to them, but thats IMO and doesnt really matter

That's what I was thinking... just try them out. But the guy is still using them on his car and we would have to pull all his wheels and mine to see what they were like. What if I like them, but they're sunken in. Where can I get a nice 20mm spacer for cheap for our cars?

You wouldn't want to use a "cheap" 20mm spacer, it'd be fairly unsafe. If you're going over 5mm for spacers, you get out of "cheap spacer" territory and into specificaly made, hubsentric spacers. Those wheels would fit and not look too bad with a 5-7mm spacer all around.

That's why I said a nice 20mm spacer, but where would I get a nice 5-7mm spacer at a decent price and would you think this is enough spacer or should I go for 10- 15mm.

well the eclipse rims will fit fine without anything extra to do, as long as its the 16 x 7 size. I had some 97 ones on mine for awhile!! if you use the 16 x 8's they will not fit you will have to get spacers then longer lugs.

But these are 16X6 with a 46mm offset. Look at the picture of them on an elipse at the top of the page, are your old ones the same as these?

The stock offset is 40mm so you are only 6mm different, that isn't much at all..... they will be alright.

well I looked them up and they said they were 16X6 but my friend says he thinks they're 16X6.5 and you think they're 16X7 so now I have no idea.

im pretty sure they are 16 x 7's, but even then 16 x 6 or 6.5 will fit fine!! just not as wide, use them they look nice on the car.

but my main point is if they're 16X6 with a 46mm offset they should be about 19mm inward from the stock wheels point, which would probably mean that I would need spacers. I'm HOPING your right though and they are 16X7.

um no..........if you use 16 x 8's then you will need spacers. I didnt have to use any at the time they were on my car. Just try them just to be sure but you will be all set.
