I hate to say this, but this has been covered at least 20 times in the last 6 months. But rather than tell you to search, here is the summary:

Yes, it will fit. It is lighter than your original, and *maybe* stronger. It is also cheaper to buy new from MAZDA than the original for your car.

But, it is unescessary if your e-shaft is still in good condition and you more than likely will not see/feel any difference unless it is a purpose built race engine. Even with that, your money would be better spent on other things to make the car faster.

My advice would be to take the money you would have spent on the e-shaft and buy Pineapple Racing's high capacity oil pan. It will not leak, it holds 1 more quart of oil, and it's thickness improves the rigidity of the engine.

That's $180 more than reusing the original one. Unless you need a new one, there's no point.

1/2 pound less rotating mass isn't that much especially when its so close to the center of rotation, a lightened flywheel will make allot more difference.

But the Rx8 stat gears are a bargain and a good upgrade.

Wont you also need the correct size rotor bearings when you switch the eccentric shaft? With the cyl engines I have built, bearing size depends on rods and crankshaft
