I agree the ebay brace looks like it uses the same mounting plates

only difference is the bar itself
that one is rectangular while the ebay one is a rounge piece of aluminum

also that piece has holes in it
while the ebay one is more or less solid tub that might be hollow

mine is rectangular with the holes in it just like the pic above.

and it is above the alt with more than an inch to spare.

True you do get what you pay for.. but at 10bucks..... as long as your not truly planing to race or downhill with it.. then I say have fun... but dont pop your hood in public unless you plan to get laughed at haha... I have both the A-spec and the Megan.. all though you will feel a little improvment dont expect the world with just the front it is a combo of things such as rear upper and lower shocks strut's springs it's to many thing's to add up... but like I said for the price hey why not.. my lunch was more the 10buck's so I cant talk haha...

i see that u have very little to do also karack, replying to a reply that is replying to a thread ALMOST a year old (don't make me type that again) ^_^
well i just rounded up to a year, since the difference is like 19 days =P

ok just incase people stumble on this thread i'm going to give my input

I think the Ebay brands are pretty good. Of coure strut bars should be better if they have a "brand" on it, but it depends on the quaity of the ebay bars

Mine, the strut plates are pretty hard, and the bars inside are W shaped so they work fairly well, and the front bars didn't really give me a different feeling while driving, but the rears did and body roll is much less....

i saw other ebay stuff "with a carbon fiber pattern center bar" having very WEAK strut plates, i can bend it with my hand.....
so those u want to avoid (i don't know how, since u can't really tell in the pictures) but try to avoid them at all cost

last is the "adjustable length" that i have mixed feelings, normally an excellent strut bar is 1 piece, things like Grex that are fairly good, is 3 pieces so u can do crap to your car without removing the WHOLE strut bar.... the last is ebay, where u have screws to adjust your length and that MIGHT be a potential weak point in the bar that name brands don't have....

so keep those points in consideration.... + money matter...
personally i don't mind spending 50 bucks on both front and rears since if i get a Grex for both front and rear i will be close to spending 200 dollars... =D and i have personal experience when it comes to how well the bars improve handling, so eeeh, its personal preference...

it's mainly about personal preference, save $150-200 and eliminate a small amount of body roll compared to the cheaper but still decently built ebay ones or go all out for looks and functionailty. it is all relative to how deep your pockets are.
