Are Ebay clutchs any good?

I have a 87 N/A that has a warn out clutch. I am going to replace it with a new one but I don't know if I should buy an expensive one or not. I am a college student and have no money. With the stock engine can I get away with an Ebay clutch that works with my stock pp, or are they no good.
Also if there is a company that sells a clutch that works with a stock pp for under $150 please let me know.
Thank

I personally wouldn't trust an e-bay clutch, even on a stock engine. You can get a stock clutch for 110 from mazdatrix, or you can get a street/strip clutch from racing beat for 138. Both prices are before shipping, and tax if you are in cali. The stock clutch is perfectly fine for any NA car, unless it has something radical like a bridgeport or something.

i have a xtd stage3 from ebay... on a bridged t-70 motor... seems to do just fine... just because its on ebay, doesnt mean its crap! sure there are cheap companies selling crap, but ebay also hosts quality parts.. so saying "ebay parts" doesnt say much... name the clutch your asking about and we will tell you if its good or not... ebays just an auction house, not a parts manufacturer!

nope, personally i bought a SPX clutch from Kragen about 2 years ago when my car was stock without expecting the car to ever be over 300RWHP but it has never slipped and feels great for city driving, still even has about 90% meat left after 20k miles and a number of 5kRPM launches at the drag strip, price was $180.

you can buy any name brand item off of ebay so what's this misconeption about anyways? ebay doesn't make the ****...

exactly. just check the brand. if they don't say what brand ask them and they will tell you. vendor means nothing, just worry about a decent brand.

Thanks for all the input. you told me exactly what I was hoping to hear.

I am not saying that ebay does not sell top quality products, but some of the stuff on ebay can be really bad. And some times people sell fake goods. Some of the sections you can buy the cheap stuff and be ok and sometimes the cheap stuff will be not worth the price.

Thanks again.
