Early peak power/torque?

Was doing some tuning on the dyno yesterday...

mods list is as follows:
S5 halfbridge, rx8 stationaries, FD seals, oil pump and OPR... Panspeed header, TD07-25a turbocharger (roughly equivalant to a 60-1), 3" mandrel bent catless single exhaust, greddy FMIC w/ 2.5" and 3" piping, etc. Megasquirt EMS.

I was running 8-10PSI of boost. I made peak torque (290) at 5200 and peak HP (325) at 6700... actually LOWER rpm (by 50) than I did on the stock turbo, when I had a 2.5" exhaust! Low numbers due to lack of boost + really conservative afr's and timing.... not quite ready to turn it up as don't quite have enough understanding of timing maps yet.

Dyno guy said it was beacuse I was running (in his, non rotary experienced opinion) very little timing on boost - only about 13* total, and I'm not even sure that's accurate, it could be only 8* total depending on how accuratly I did it to the marks :P

is this correct behavior for the motor or is something restricting my topend flow? (like my stock intake manifolds perhaps...)

I'm not really complaining as I like usable power, I just want to be sure I'm not missing out on an extra 1000 rpm's up high.

If you're running rich, this could be surpressing power at the top end.
Yes, overly retarded ignition timing will supress power also.
Tune more aggressively and the power appear...

what kind of advance should I have at say, 5000 RPM and 12psi? 16psi? what about 7000rpm? 8?

I really don't know wtf I'm doing when it comes to tuning but since there is nowhere around here that does either I guess I'll have to figure it out
