And the engine will actually be cooled down faster if you leave it idling, so that water can circulate and actually remove heat. The stock fan will do this perfectly. Just cooling the water in the radiator does not cool the engine down.

well the people at akinas say that e fans do a easy 10% up hp and tq so with the right set up like a fd alt and all it will not matter if it comes on and 10% of a stock rx is like 10 hp at the wheel so it dose alot of good.

E-Fans are best combined with a good mechanical fan. Most cars these days have it this way. The stock mechanical fan, while good, is not entirely adequate during idling situations if you have air conditioning, which is why despite the capabilities of the stock mechanical fan, it is backed up by a small electric fan. Mechanical fans have always been prone to this type of problem, because even when fully engaged, a machanical fan at idle speed flows nowhere near as much as an electric fan, which can be at full blast regardless of engine speed.

E-fan is only if you don't have room for stock fan set up (ie: front mount). If there is nothing wrong with your stock fan , leave it alone!
It does NOT free up horsepower. 10HP? You gotta be kidding me.
There are a lot of "head up the ***" mechanics out there so don't believe everything you hear. If you searched for it, it would have given a you a few hours of reading. I would like to go back to stock fan , but I can't due to the piping for front mount.

Yes, you NEED the shroud with the stock fan, with an electric fan _I_ personally don't belive it is needed in MOST situations, primarily because the fan is generally speaking placed directly onto the radiator, the purpose of the stock shroud is to direct air towards the fan because it is a Loooong way away from the radiator..

DO NOT waste time or energy on an electric fan, the clutch fan is probably the most dependable thing on a car. If your's has failed then just get a used one and forget it, it will never break again. The performance gains of an electric fan are about the same as draining your washer bottle to reduce weight.

My spelling can be realy bad at times,"shroud". Was made by useing card bord as a mold with a good coat of candle wax and then fiber glassed , then the card bord comes out. The temp sensor turns the fans on at 160 or so and it came from a VW. Been this way for along time and has always worked well

unless if the parts store has a stock fan get-up for cheaper than an e-fan set up, I gotta go e-fan (money dictates in a situation where the fan is not pulling any air at all)
