E-brake not braking good

parking on a hill and tried to use e-brake pulled it all the way up and it still slowly rolled back.... hill wasn't even that steep... never done any handbraking to coax it to drift either (i mean i only use it to park)

what could be making it so loose??

can i fix it myself??

thanks,
paul

E-brake or Parking Brake is VERY important- yes. It uses a cable to manually pull the rear calipers onto the rotors. the cable can be tightened at the base of the handle. If it has stretched or frayed, it needs to be replaced. Also, how good are the rear pads and calipers? No friction- no brakes. and it's easy... you can doo eet, rotorboy!

Good for you. There is a lot of details in the Hayes manual. That is a good book to have.
