E Brake light won't turn off!

Over this past winter I've been storing my car in my shed and just yesterday I went to check on it. Everything was fine except when I released the handbrake, the light on the dash wouldn't go out... Does anyone have any idea what I could do about this or what the problem is? thanks

You probably need to add brake fluid. The Ebrake light tells you two things:1)when the Ebrake is on. 2)when the brake fluid is low.
The brake resevoirs on 7s seem to leak a fair bit when the rubber gaskets below them wear out. Go replace them, but be warned that they are a pain to put back in (I had to clamp mine down overnight).

If it's not the brake fluid, there is a switch under the plastic cover on the E brake boot. It may be stuck, or out of adjustment.

Check your brake fluid. If it's low, the light will be on. Or something could be making it think the brake is on when it's not. I've had what I assume was ice doing it to me. I'm guessing that because it went away the same time the snow did.

yeah i have the same problem in my 7. The fluid is fine... the e-brake is down completely... it goes away after the car warms up, so i dont think its a big deal. The braking isnt affected at all.

um just make sure that the ebrake eraly is ok. i just thought my switch was bad, and it was for like 2 months, until it realy did end up engaging and destroying my rear brakes after about an hour on the hWY. it can be a costly mistake. dont blow this off you could regret it.

you may be turning your key too far from the on position when you start. check that.
