E-Brake broken!

E-Brake broken!
Right, anyone else had this problem?
The threaded bar that the e-brake button is attached to has come away from the ratchet device! Not haveing much luck fitting it back inside securely (its all enclosed with a little hole on top too see what im doing? Is it worth trying to fix or just get a new one from breakers yard?
