You can really smooth out that A/F ratio alot more. You are using an S-AFC right?

holy buttered popcorn batman!! More torque than hp?!!? Those mazda factory workers must've accidently sprinkled a little too much magical torque dust on your engine!

But seriously, how didja do it?

What happened to the A/F at 3200? Im no dyno expert in any means, but does going down mean going torwards the lean side?

That A/F looks a bit rough compared to others... do you have a S-AFC?

Again, Im just now learning all this A/F ****, and all the other stuff, so if Im asking a retarded question, please keep the flameage to a minimum

Actually he got really rich around 3200 RPMs. Around 11.5:1 is a good setup for the street. 12:1 is ok too, but his A/F is wayy too unsteady. Here is his other post that has mods:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=215284

My guess is either a heavy port job on a rebuild he may not know about or an off dyno. This is believeable for me, but 178rwhp completely stock on the same engine that came from the factory 14 years is ago is a hard one. I want to believe it, but damn.

i got so much TQ over hp because i had full boost (14psi) aroudn that rpm, 3-4k, then the boost pretty much dropped after that since it just cant keep up with the motor. Too small. by 7k i was doing 10psi. Who said rotarys cant make TQ?

Actually i have a reman, with around 5k on it, and NO it does not have any port job. I bough it from Malloy Mazda in Virgina, bone stock $2100

that was his hihgest hp # , the a/f was smoothed after that, the s4 turbo just doesnt want to boost anymore that exhaust housign is just too small , well time for a bigger turbo. thi swas all at 14 psi. doesnt really make sence to push that turbo any more since it will just die this way he can atelst have enouf power and somewhat of a power band istead of a big spike in power of like 20 psi from about 3-5k

he has full raicng beat exhaust, 3 inch intake pipe on teh turbo compressor, and a greddy ic thats pretty much it for power mods

here is the comparison between his stock car with only a k&n drop in, then with rb exhaust at 9 psi then with addition of greddy intercooler and still 9 psi and then 14 psi

This is the most useful dyno graph ever because it shows the actual gains from modifications.

What other mods do you have? Which RB exhaust, the 3" or the 2.5 incher?

Thanks

I'd love to believe that the dyno is accurate. But how can you explain 178rwhp comepletely stock?

Because the stock HP values vary... but check his torque... it seems rather accurate. His HP only gained about 10 from the average consensus... that's not that much. Either way, he said he had a K&N filter to begin with... and I imagine a TID to go along with that.

I pulled a 177.x RWHP on a bone stock '91 TII.

If memory serves me correct a stock setup only came with less 200hp...(at the crank). So id say thats about right. That torque curve is very impressive....i also say that the fuel curve could be a bit smoother....as you guys up north are approaching weather changes id get your A/F #s in the low 11s.

Are you ever making the hp early in the rev band. Your peak hp is only at 3800rpm. How the Hell is this possible!?

Your 91 has 200bhp stock though, not 182

They came with 182bhp. So approximately 160rwhp would be a good pull completely stock.

I'm with mr. eccentric, that peak HP is occuring curiously low. Why, I have no fekking clue.. but it may be a symptom of you overall oddball a/f & truck-like dyno chart.
