Dyno tuning tomorrow: anyone have some tips?

Im going to the dyno tomorrow to tune because I dont have a wideband. I know what AFRs im shooting for and will be tuning with my SAFC2. I pay by the hour so I want to make this as quick as possible. Never been to a dyno before, so does anyone have any tips on what to expect or anything like that?

I'll post up the dyno sheet in the dyno section tomorrow.

I plan to do that but in the mean time i want to make sure my car is running right (as in, not too lean) NOW.

AND i want to see how much horsepowah i got anyway, so might as well hook up their wideband, too.

in your hourly pay, it doesn't include help tuning? Basically you just wanna go for pulls and make sure your AF ratios are good. If you can play with timing you can move timing around a little. timing is easy on a dyno. if you use just a couple degrees and lose power then go the other way till you hit a sweet spot.
basically tho i think ytou are just fuel tuning. so take his sheet and look at what rpm you need more fuel and make changes.

Cool thanks man. as far as the help tuning, I opted not to hire a technician or whatever because all I am going to do is adjust fuel using the SAFC, and I know how to do that myself.

How do I adjust timing? Or should i even mess with it? Can i adjust it if all I have is SAFC? I could probably stand to retard it a little since im running more than stock bost (about 9-10 psi).

Can't with an S-AFC.

You could adjust base timing, but you don't want to do that

Just play with your 20% +/- after checking out AFR's and call it a day. Not much you can do with an S-AFC.

Make sure the Dyno operator and you have a VERY CLEAR UNDERSTANDING of what signal you will give him to LIFT THE THROTTLE if things arent looking so hot.

You start seeing AFRs you dont like its imperative that homeboy get off the go pedal as fast as possible. You can always restart the run after some safety changes.

I heard its best to do your pulls in 4th gear. Something about 1:1 ratio but I dont know the specifics.

You mean if it starts going really lean?
When I talked on the phone with the guy to set up my appointment i was under the impression that he would set up the machine and everything and then tell me what to do, and then I would drive the car, but i dont know for sure
