dynamic damper

Has anyone with a 89 to 91 Non turbo RX-7 removed the dynamic damper from the output shaft of their 5 spd transmission. How did you remove it, and what do you think would happen if I didn't reinstall it?

I'm trying to fit a 1st gen tail housing onto the end of an 89 5 spd but the tail housing interferes with the dynamic damper. I was hoping I could just take it off and leave it off. Any thoughts. TIA

The series 4 doesn't have a dynamic damper so I expect you could live without it. That is as long as everthing else is held in right.
