dynamic chamber? stupid intake. can i fab one up?

ok.. heres the deal.

the stock intakes have that big-*** open area just after the throttle body called (i believe) the dynamic chamber or something like that. you all know what im talkin about. its just behind the TB and just precedes the intake runners. it has GOT to be a major source of turbulence and therefore i believe also a restriction.
what would be the consequences of welding up my own design that is a straight piped version going from the TB to the engine block without expanding into that huge chamber first.

im sure it is there to ensure even flow to each intake runner or something lame like that. harrr....

anyone?

Actually you could use a intake from a 84-85 GSL-SE if you wanted a 13B intake without the Dynamic surge...

You would only loose about 10 HP and 2 MPG doing it.

The Dynamic surge on a NA works. It is designed to use the port closing on one rotor face to super charge the other intake port. Any turbulance that might perceived is offset by the surge.

i have heard of this so called "naturally supercharging" effect of the rotary engine.

with a turbo car, does this still have any affect?

great, my neighbor has an 85 gsl-se in parts in his garage. i may try slapping his intake on just for comparison.

thanks

No, because a Turbo has more pressure.
