Question Duel or single Question?

If i have 2 identical T2's both with N1's fitted one has a Duel the other has a single wich one is going to make the most noise? or wich one is going to sound better?

Also i know the Duel will flow better but is there any power diffrence it the two?

The problem is i like the Burbly sort of noise and my pal has a Race beat 3" exhaust on his FD and that is relitivly quiet and makes a realy cool sound. So i was thinking of going the single route what do you think?

It shouldn't make much difference to the actual note of the exhaust, but the single will be louder. Which sounds "better" is a personal thing and there'll never be a final decision on this forum!
Pipe size is a big factor too, both for noise and flow. A dual 2" won't outflow a single 3" but a dual 2.5" will. Can you measure all the pipe and muffler dimensions and post 'em?

With everything else being equal, a Y-pipe dual exhaust will be quieter because all of the exhaust pulses go through two mufflers as opposed to one. A dual exhaust does not necessarily flow better, and in most cases will have less performance than a single. The exhaust note depends on a lot of variables, such as engine porting, turbo size, downpipe, catalytic converters, pre-silencers, pipe diameter and length, etc. I recommend that you listen to other 2Gen TII's with the same porting as yours to see what you like.

Ok the single is 3" all the way and the Duel is 3" to the diff then it splits to 2x 2.5" .

As far as i can tell the single has one box and the Duel has two, basicly one each side. I'm going to have to get back to you with the exact sizes as its 11.30pm and it's dark, i know mine are same diameter but about 3" shorter in lenth but i have two?

Both my pals Fd and my Fc are running with no cats fitted. I dont understand why his 3" full system is so quiet and mine you can hear 2 miles away?

There probably is a slight difference in power, but so slight you probably wouldn't be able to tell. I wnet with dual because it is quieter, dual flames, isn't that much heavier, and IMO makes the rear look more "balanced" Of course its all opinion.

Do you have an aftermarket downpipe and/or cats removed? If not, then you probably have an exhaust leak. My TII had a gutted pre-cat and NO mufflers, and it was only slightly louder than a stock non-turbo 2Gen. The turbo cuts out a lot of noise.
