dual t2 fuel pumps

has anyone ever done this? I am thinking about running 2 T2 fuel pumps in tandem, and having my MS turn one off @ idle and cruise. has anyone ever set JUST 2 T2 pumps up in parallel?

i was thinking about that but i'm getting a walbro and attach it to my t2 but i would think it will slow the pressure down.

One of my friends has two walbros - one for each fuel rail. It was easy to set up, but he did have to run some fuel lines. I get the feeling you're just thinking about hooking one t2 pump up behind another t2 pump, which wouldn't do a whole lot, I think.

no, I am hooking them up in parallel. Think light bulbs. I am not stringing them in a line in one circuit, I am having them run both side by side and feeding into one line. The way I am interpreting what you are seeing is to have one fuel pump on top of the other, one pumping fuel into the other. that's not what I plan on doing.

Yep, guys do it. I haven't done it though, but if I ever did a project where I could I would.
Two TII pumps should give you 320 lph of flow, compared to the 255 lph Walbro pump.

Spend $75 on a second pump, lines, fittings, etc, and you have more flow than a Walbro, which costs twice as much.

Im also considering doing this as well. Right now i have a 3rd gen pump but i still have my T2 that i took out and was planning on using it in a dual setup. I was thinking of running a seperate power source and controlling via a switch. When i do it i will try to remember to document and take pictures for a write up......(if it hasn't been done yet).

would it be so unreasonable to use a y fitting to have them both feed into one line? that way I don't have to run new line alllll the way across the car. The main reason I am doing this is because I need the extra fuel and I like to pinch pennies

plus I might devise a way to control the use of the 2nd fuel pump with my megasquirt.

It should be possible to run them into a Y. Just be sure to use check valves so that you don't loose pressure when the second one shuts off.

Running two pumps in parallel will increase your flow rate only untill you exceed the maximum flow rate for the fuel line. Running a second line will allow you to increase the flow rate further. Your maximum fuel pressure will not be increased in a parallel application. The pump can only make so much pressure. Running them in series will improve maximum pressure, but not much. Basically, running the pumps in series decreases the pressure differential across the pump closer to the engine, allow for a greater pressure at the injectors. Again, you will be limited by the fuel line max pressure. If you need two fuel pumps, run them in parallel and run a second fuel line to the secondary fuel rail. Higher pressure can go over board (see spraying fuel all over the inside of the manifold).

There is supposed to be some guy in my area that is running 3 fuel pumps on his fc!!!! Each pump is running 2 injectors, 6 in total. I have only heard of him though, he is a good friend of one of my friends, and I was supposed to check out his car last summer to see his setup, but never got the chance...........
Hopefully I can see it in the near future when he brings his car out of hibrination! Apparently the car is insane and runs low 10's on street tires, i guess I'll have to wait and see............

Megasquirt.

nonameo:
How are you doing with the ms,are you running alternating mode or dual table?
And what engine setup have you got?
I`m using the ms on my streetported 13bt,and running dual tabel.
Haven`t done all the fine tuning yet, cause I`ll have to finish my custom intake manifold.
Like to share some ms setup/ve-table settings?
Cheers
Ronny

I don't have all the stuff to make it yet. these are plans, and have not been completed yet. I am still waiting for the stuff from digikey(which is taking f!@#ing forever to get here... I ordered it RIGHT at the day the group buy re-opened. (sometime in jan.) I will probably run dual table.

For my 20B project, I will be running two Walbro pumps (total 510 lph flow), with seperate lines. One pump/line will fee the primary/secondary fuel rails and the other pump/line will feed the homemade extra injectors fuel rail.
Should be plenty of fuel flow
