Fair enough. From Mazda's point of view parallel mufflers meant considerably less noise for the same flow (or the same noise for more flow). For us it makes it easier to have a cop-friendly high-flow exhaust. If the pipe sizes are properly selected there can be less less restriction than a single (which sadly doesn't seem to apply to most off-the-shelf dual systems). The weight difference is a tiny fraction of the car's overall weight. And it looks great.

I dont care Im gonna convert into single.
i was gonna go cheap and take off the right muffler and weld the open Y pipe where the right muffler used to be and leave the left one...
good idea or bad idea?

terrible idea. If you mean you are just going to weld one side of the Y-pipe closed, all you are going to do is make a huge restriction in the exhaust. Gases are going to flow down the right side of the Y-pipe, get stuck, and then have to go around to the other side.

Read the description. The 59 hp increase is not due just to the exhaust system but also because the stock boost levels are increased as a side effect.

I stand corrected. However you get the 60 hp just from the exhaust? thats pretty sweet
wouldnt the boostincrease need you need a new ECU? or do only FDs need a ECU after an increase?
