DTSS Bolt
Why wont my DTSS bolt loosen i have a good impact and have tried several times it moves slightly when i tighten it and then loosen it but then it stops turning this is the only bolt holding my knuckle on and it wont budge. Wondering if i did something wrong that would cause this. but in the mean time im going back to the garage and getting the a propane torch to see if that helps. Thanks

the bushing is prolly stuck to the bolt. either get new bolts and bushings or use the dtss eliminator bushings. same thing happened on my car it was a pain in the *** but it finally came out.

i dont know its weird you it starts to turn when u loosen it then wont go anymore and if u release the ratchet the bolt rotates back to it original postition so its like it springs the bolt back when you try to move it.

I did mine in december, it would turn and get stuck every 3/4 of a turn. I sprayed some PB Blaster in there and tightened the bolt and loosened it like three times, sprayed it again and gave it a couple love taps with my hammer. That helped break the bolt free and then i noticed that it was a little bent, but i just put it back on the car since i didnt have the time to wait for a new one.

yea i just went out there and watched the bushing turn with the bolt so i lifted the little rubber boots up and sprayed some PB Blaster in there hoping it would loosen it up a bit but still nothing. I hope i can get this off cuz my wheel bearing is shot and i need my car back so i can go to class and find a job next week. Any more tips would help, thanks so far guys.

Like others have said, the bolt is probably frozen to the inner sleeve of the bushing which is embedded in rubber. So when you turn the bolt, the rubber stretches and the bolt springs back.
Best you can do is to get a long breaker bar and a 6-point socket and use some muscle. And soak it with PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench for several days before working on it again. Plan on replacing the bushings with DTSS eliminators since the OEM bushing(s) will be trashed. As I understand things, you can't buy just the OEM bushings from Mazda.

Noob question: Do you need a press to get the DTSS elim bushings in? I just got delrin dtss elims and Rear LCA bushings but if I have to use a press to get them in it will suck.

As long as it is a rigid replacement, it doesn't matter much. All a DTSS eliminator bushing has to do is not allow the hub to toe in or out under various loads like the OEM DTSS bushing did. That being said, mine came from Racing Beat. Purely convenience, as I ordered a bunch of suspension parts from them at the same time.
