Dropping an FD 13b in a GTU vs dropping it into a TII

Will it cost more to drop in to a GTU then it will a TII? I'm looking mainly at parts, not labor. Price finally spent on parts alone?

How would it be harder to drop a 13b in than a TII engine? It seems you'd have to account for the same things? Would the intercooler get in the way of stuff? I know I'd have to relocate some stuff, but thats not a big deal.

buget about 6-8k if your going to put a fd motor in your gtu. your going to have to get t2 tranmisson, rear end. pretty much everything will have to be t2 that touches the motor. i would advise doing that swap into a already turbo'd car it will save you alot of time and money$$

FD engine is 13b rew. I think ONE person has put it into an FC... good luck...

but yes it'll cost more into the gtu, however both are way to much and not worth it. just build up a nice 13bt.

The main challenge will be in the Engine Mounts

They're different. It would be much easier to mount a FD in a FB than a FC in this regard.

And, I talked to the guy that did this. Bottom line, he was glad he did. But, doubts he would ever do it again or encourage someone else to do.

Yeah, expect serious damage to your wallet. And, retro-fit would be the right way to go.

Good luck.
