To drop front of subframe..
1987 tII
in the midst of changing out a boken diff mount, trying to drop the front end of the subframe a bit to make it easier.
car is in the air with stands on the pinch. I have the catback removed, the two big nuts off of the front of the subframe, and the little 'ears' that come off with them. the subframe dropped about a half inch when i lowered the jack but that was it.
am I missing something that needs to be removed? (ie... driveshaft!?)
thanks guys

There's also a vertical link that runs from the back of th e subframe up to the body. Remove it and the shocks, and put a jack under the nose of the diff to prevent being crushed. Also loosen the diff mounting bolts.

Yeah, if you're trying to take out the rear differential you're gonna have to pull out the driveshaft. I wrote an in depth walkthrough on removing it, I'll post a link in a minute.

That might help. Read the whole thread. A bunch of others chime and point out some **** I didn't write about.
