Drivetrain noises...

Whenever I am coming to a stop and I put the clutch in quickly, I hear a loud clanking noise, it hits like 2 or three times then stops. Does anybody knows what causes this? The car has a relatively new clutch in it.

Another problem I have is that I feel like my drivetrain is consuming a lot of power at upper RPMs. It's VERY noise and just doesn't feel smooth. Anybody have this sort of problem? I am thinking about rebuilding the tranny myself but I can't find any info on anybody who has rebuilt theirs on their own.

Sorry the noise you describe does not sound familiar However, there are a number of people on the forum that have rebuilt the trans on there own. There are posts out there about it.

Not sure, but maybe a bad bearing...

I started getting a vibration at high speeds along with a humming noise that sounded like blowing over a wine bottle, within a few weeks I started getting a vibration @ 40 MPH and up. Then I started hearing a squeeling noise when braking with the motor. I finally got underneath my car and checked my propellar shaft (drive shaft) and the U-joints were shot and I had all kinds of play in it.

You may want to check it out.
