Driveshaft upgrade

Hey everyone, so I will be putting a TII rear end with tranny on my n/a 86. I will be putting a TII engine in shortly, but for now I want to make sure the tranny works nice and the LSD as well. This way I can rebuild the tranny if I need to when I drop in the engine. However I am little hesitant as I know that mazdatrix sells aluminum driveshaft, I have been thinking about it for a while now and cant seem to make up my mind as nobody I have met has used one. So would it be worth it to spend almost 400 bucks on this thing? Or should I use the money for the engine or something??? Thanks

I bought a Mazdatrix aluminum driveshaft, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet due to fuel issues.

I decided to get it because I have a lot of low-inertia parts that would probably work pretty well with it, such as a 4-lb 225mm flywheel and 2-disk 5.5" clutch pack. Besides, it is priced less than an OEM driveshaft.

Were I building a typical street car, I would just use the Mazdatrix aftermarket steel driveshaft and put the saved $100 toward something more useful. I think the important thing is to get a new driveshaft because I see way too many people trying to save a buck by buying a cheapie junk yard driveshaft that usually fails within a few months if not sooner.

yeah thats what I am doing, well trying to avoid doing a guess. I have already bought new(rebuilt) axles from autozone, only 70 each with core exchange. And I want a new driveshaft as well, and I saw it was cheaper to get the aluminum one than the stock one. Hopefully I will not have to rebuild my tranny, as it came from lucky7 racing, but where they got it??? who knows
