Driveshaft Removal

Im trying to change out my transmission and im having a heck of a time trying to remove the driveshaft. I was up under the car for an hour and was only able to get one bolt to break off. Anyone have any hints on getting these to break loose? The drive shaft keeps trying to move with it and its giving me a hard time. Maybe Ill soak it in WD40, that Fixes everything.

Put the emergency break on and put it in gear. That should keep it from turning. Don't strip those or you'll hate yourself. When you get the bolts off move it back about 1/2 and inch, lower it, then carefully slide it out of the transmission supporting the whole thing.

I used an impact to remove all of mine and they came off without any problems. That's probably the easiest way to keep it from spinning at the same time, plus, I bet you've already removed the shifter so changing gears would involve putting the shifter back in and all that.

Try PB Blaster. Spray on and wait an hour or so. Brake on, car in gear, and prybay slid between the u-joint, and then try to break it free. If that doesnt work repeat with the PB Blaster. Longer it penetrates the better it works. Mine were tough to get loose too. After that your home free...........

i just did this today... used WD-40... let it soak... all i had were shitty tools (only about 6-8 inch ratchets) so to get more leverage, i extended the ratchet with vice grips.. worked perfect... 14mm bolts (just in case your trying to use english)
