driveshaft problem

i just purchased a used S5 T2 transmission and driveshaft, but when i installed the tranney and went to install the driveshaft, it was about 2-3 inches too short and the flange doesnt line up with my S5 T2 diff. the splines fit in fine, anyone know what its from?

Probably from an automatic. They are about 2" shorter than the TII or the 5 speed N/A

I have a used driveshaft from an 88 GXL. Its the stock one, I dont think the U-joints are bad. My dad wants me to get rid of some car parts, if you're interested in it, let me know.
